Flange design refers to the design of flange connection, including three departments: gasket design, bolt (stud) design and flange body design. The key points of design are as follows: gasket design, which is the basis of flange connection design.
According to the design premise and the medium used, select the appropriate gasket type and material, determine the gasket size (inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness), and then calculate the pressure of the gasket in the preloaded state and working state. Bolt / stud design select bolts of appropriate materials according to the design premise, and calculate the bolt area required to meet the pre tightening state and operation state of the gasket. The actual bolt area shall not be less than the calculated area.
The principle of bolt design is to determine the smaller diameter of the central circle of the bolt. The requirements can be met by selecting the appropriate bolt specification and number. Flange body design flange design is divided into internal pressure and external pressure. The flange bearing external pressure can be designed according to the calculation method of the flange bearing internal pressure, but the calculation of flange operating torque is slightly different.
There are two calculation methods for narrow flange, namely loose flange and integral flange. Any flange is usually calculated by integral flange, which can be simplified as loose flange under certain premise. The calculation of loose flange is relatively simple, and the flange thickness can be calculated at one time. However, the design of integral flange needs to be completed by repeated calculation, assuming the structural size of each component.
