Process flow of groove connection

1、 Process installation preparation – rolling groove > opening, installation of mechanical tee, cross – pipe installation – unified pressure test.
2、 Installation preparation

  • 1. check the hole opener, groove rolling machine and pipe cutting machine to ensure safe use.
  • 2. preparation of materials and tools, including pipe, steel tape, wrench, vernier caliper, level gauge, lubricant, wooden hammer, scaffold, etc.
  • 3. install the supports and hangers of the pipes to be installed according to the design requirements.

3、 Rolling groove

  • 1. cut the steel pipe according to the required length with the pipe cutter, and check the cut section with a horizontal instrument to ensure that the cut section is perpendicular to the central axis of the steel pipe. If the cut is burred, grind it smooth with a grinder.
  • 2. the steel pipe requiring processing groove shall be set on the tail frame of groove rolling machine and groove rolling machine, and leveled with a level meter to make the steel pipe in horizontal position.
  • 3. close the steel pipe processing end section to the groove rolling machine, so that the central axis of the steel pipe is perpendicular to the roller surface.
  • 4. press down slowly. Jack, make the upper roller stick to the steel pipe, start the groove roller, and turn the roller for a week. At this time, pay attention to whether the steel pipe section is still tightly connected with the groove roller. If it is not tight, adjust the pipe to the level. If it is tight, slowly press down the jack so that the upper roller can roll the steel pipe evenly to the depth of the groove.
  • 5. stop the machine, check the groove depth and width with vernier caliper, and unload the jack and take out the steel pipe after confirming it meets the standard requirements.

4、 Open the hole. Installation of mechanical tee and cross

  • 1. snap ink line on steel pipe to determine the opening position of joint branch pipe.
  • 2. fix the chain hole opener at the predetermined opening position of steel pipe.
  • 3. start the motor, turn the handwheel to make the bit close to the steel pipe slowly, and add lubricant to the drill bit to protect the drill bit and complete the hole opening on the steel pipe.
  • 4. stop the machine, shake the handwheel, open the chain, take down the hole opener, clean the metal block and the residue on the hole, and grind the hole smooth with a grinder.
  • 5. sleeve the clamp on the steel pipe, pay attention to that the mechanical tee shall be concentric with the hole, the clearance between the rubber sealing ring and the hole shall be uniform, and the fastening bolts shall be in place.
  • 6. if it is a mechanical four-way, it is necessary to pay attention to ensure that the holes on both sides of the steel pipe are concentric when opening the holes. Otherwise, when the installation is completed, the rubber ring may break and affect the water passing area.

5、 The pipeline installation shall be carried out in accordance with the principle of first installing large diameter, main pipe and riser, then small diameter and branch pipe.

During the installation, it is necessary to install continuously in sequence, and it is not allowed to skip or install in sections, so as to avoid difficulties in connection between sections and sections and affect the overall performance of the pipeline.

  • 1. fix the steel pipe on the support and hanger, and set the non damaged rubber sealing ring on the end of a steel pipe.
  • 2. insert the lubricant coated steel pipe around the other end into the rubber sealing ring, turn the rubber sealing ring so that it is located in the middle of the interface.
  • 3. install the upper and lower clamps on the outer side of the rubber sealing ring, and send the collar convex edge into the groove, press the upper and lower clamp ears firmly, and screw the bolts on the clamp screw hole and tighten the nuts evenly. During the nut tightening, punch the clamp with a wooden hammer to ensure that the rubber sealing ring will not wrinkle. The convex edge of the clamp shall be clamped into the groove all round.
  • 4. add support and hanger to the pipe within 500mm of rigid clamp joint.

6、 After the installation of system pressure test pipe, the system pressure test shall be carried out.

Before system pressure test, check whether all the installation parts, fixing brackets, etc. are installed in place. The installed pipeline may be sagging, and if the sag arc is larger, support can be added; If the arc is small, the arc will disappear naturally when the pressure in the pipe increases.

Pipe groove connection
